Blue Highways

In college

I discovered and began to read

the travelogs of William Least Heat-Moon,

his journeys

by van

boat

large scale

and small,

across America,

his piercing into the communities

where he found regular people

who didn't mind sharing their lives with him

and in term, 

with his readers.

I kind of think

there'd be a better bond

between us

if more people

shared these blue highways

with him

and each other.
